Description:
Abstract:
Detailed study of water quality, sediment, and biota associated with irrigation drainage, Salton Sea area, 1988-90.
Purpose:
The USGS was responsible for determining the hydrologic and geochemical factors affecting concentrations of irrigation-induced contaminants, particularly selenium, and the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service was responsible for identifying pathways of contaminant accumulation in biota. results of the detailed investigation will serve as the scientific basis for planning and conducting remediation efforts under the direction of the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation.
