<PRE ID="original">These zones represent PRBO's areas of study in the Salton Sea region during their compilation of migratory bird counts in 1999.  They have been constructed from individual viewshed sites as well as linear surveys, and composited into areas of similar environmental conditions for statistical analysis. These percentages relate the number of birds observed within each zone to the total number of birds
observed within the Salton Sea region.</PRE>

Here we report  the results of those surveys, interpret their relevance to the Salton Sea restoration Project EIR/EIS, and make recommendations for further research needs.</PRE>
